Throughout the years, the tradition was that grooms did not have a car and that was for the bride. Many reasons for this change could be attributed to a more equal society today or even the men wanting to arrive in that extra style. But what seems more commonplace now is that the best men, gifts the groom this expensive ride as a friendly gesture for their big day.

The tradition used to be that brides where gifted a luxurious car and then chauffeured to the event, this was usually paid for by the bride’s father or sometimes even the groom as a part of the weeding budget. But over the years car enthusiastic grooms also wanted to arrive to the venue in their dream car, and although its tradition for only the brides to arrive in a stunning car, I am simply baffled how this started and why only the brides should be treated to such a once in a lifetime opportunity on their big day.

As time goes on I feel weddings are becoming more extravagant, traditions seem to be broken more and people feel a lot more freedom when planning their day. One of these traditions which is now being broken a lot more is the one we have just discussed. Although tradition is important I feel it is just as fair to allow the men to arrive in style in their dream car, to make the day just that extra special. It also is the perfect gift from the groom’s father or the best man on the day to give to the soon to be married man.

Overall as times have changed grooms have now come across an opportunity to arrive to their big day ain style. I can see this increasing and even eventually, being more men that arrive to their wedding in luxurious cars than women. As surely a tradition and your gender shouldn’t stop you from turning up to your wedding in your dream car.
