Why is it becoming more popular to hire cars for the grooms?

Throughout the years, the tradition was that grooms did not have a car and that was for the bride. Many reasons for this change could be attributed to a more equal society today or even the men wanting to arrive in that extra style. But what seems more commonplace now is that the best men, gifts the groom this expensive ride as a friendly gesture for their big day.

The tradition used to be that brides where gifted a luxurious car and then chauffeured to the event, this was usually paid for by the bride’s father or sometimes even the groom as a part of the weeding budget. But over the years car enthusiastic grooms also wanted to arrive to the venue in their dream car, and although its tradition for only the brides to arrive in a stunning car, I am simply baffled how this started and why only the brides should be treated to such a once in a lifetime opportunity on their big day.

As time goes on I feel weddings are becoming more extravagant, traditions seem to be broken more and people feel a lot more freedom when planning their day. One of these traditions which is now being broken a lot more is the one we have just discussed. Although tradition is important I feel it is just as fair to allow the men to arrive in style in their dream car, to make the day just that extra special. It also is the perfect gift from the groom’s father or the best man on the day to give to the soon to be married man.

Overall as times have changed grooms have now come across an opportunity to arrive to their big day ain style. I can see this increasing and even eventually, being more men that arrive to their wedding in luxurious cars than women. As surely a tradition and your gender shouldn’t stop you from turning up to your wedding in your dream car.

When your big day comes around everything must be perfect, from the cake to the photography, and for all the car enthusiasts its how you turn up. So when deciding on what beautiful car is your chosen ride for the day there are so many factors to take into account. What manufacturer? How luxurious is the ride? How iconic is it? But what we will be discussing today is should you go for a modern or a classic model?

If you decide on a more classic model there are a few factors you must take into consideration. Such as the size of car. For instance in the iconic jaguar e-type hardtop is considered a 4 seater. But until you see the car it can barely be considered that. With two spacious passenger and driver seats, the two in the back are crammed and the likelihood of fitting 4 people in it is basically impossible. Especially when you take into consideration the possibility of a bride being in there with a beautiful new dress, almost overflowing the car. Whereas in a more modern luxurious vehicle such as a top of the range, range rover you will arrive comfortably with plenty of space as the vehicle is built with the best modern technologies, that half a century ago they could not offer. So if you are focused on a smooth, comfortable ride modern is the way to go. Especially if you are travelling a long distance for your wedding.

Another factor to think about is the if your wedding is in the summer or even abroad in a hot country. Having a classic car may prove difficult for this as the air conditioning is simply not as good as modern day models. You may arrive cramp and sweaty which is the last thing you want to be on your special day. As the older the car is the more likely the technology will decrease. As many powerful modern day luxuries were not around when these classics were crafted.

Furthermore if you opt for a modern car it is a lot more reliable and has a considerably less chance of breaking down. As the last thing you want to have on your special day is being stranded on the motorway miles away from the venue and being the last ones to arrive, behind your precious schedule. So to avoid this risk it is a lot safer to choose a modern more reliable car.

On the whole i have talked about a lot of negative points when it comes to the more classic models. But lets be honest how can you not appreciate a classic iconic, like an old Aston Martin or even a classic Ferrari. These cars are the foundations of what newer models are built on and what helped shape the ever thriving motor industry. So if you love a classic build and want to arrive in the most style, why not go for a classic car?
